I was planning to boot into Windows on one of my craptops in order to test a fix from a chip vendor whose configuration software only runs on Windows, but I guess I’ll just … not.

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
