I think you right. Especially when PCLinuxOS is the “The Boomer Distribution“ according to the website. Obviously the community and user friendliness ( like the control center) you mentioned was the main reason. Lastly, destroying your CRT monitor by a wrong X config was part of the learning process.
It is Kontact because it is KDE.
Have a look at miller
You are thinking of Xed
@coolmojo@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux Mint 22 Will Include Preinstalled App for MatrixEnglish6•1YMy problem with matrix is that you need email address to use it. Compared to the irc, where you could just use whatever name and ask questions straight away. Most distros I used came with an irc client preinstalled and preconfigured to connect to the support channel when launched. In my opinion that is more beginner friendly.
Nautilus used to have Split pane mode
It is on the FlatHub as well.
You can use something like PairDrop instead. It is open source and browser based.

In 2004, Microsoft was granted a patent on using a double-click on “limited resource computing devices”. As a result of this, some observers fear that any U.S. company which uses double-clicking may have to change their product not to use the technology, pay licensing fees to Microsoft, or give Microsoft access to intellectual property.
@coolmojo@lemmy.worldto Sync for Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it just me or did Lemmy suddenly became more active now that Sync for Lemmy is released?English3•2YYou can try Mlem it is in the App Store.
openSUSE does support FlatPak, just follow the Wiki entry. There is also a wiki entry about Steam Blender is in the repositories. Also keep in mind that they stance about multimedia codecs is the same as Fedora. Please consusult this wiki entry for more information. I have to say that openSUSE Tumbleweed is a fantastic distro. It is rolling release, but it is also using OpenQA to make sure nothing breaks during updates. Hope this helps.
Works on Voyager and Mlem.
